The young family who’d just purchased this late ‘60s Vancouver Special in Deep Cove had us open up the living space, optimize the kitchen function and modernize the interiors. We created a great room connecting the kitchen, dining and living rooms that featured wide-plank distressed hardwood flooring underfoot and a nest of linear skylights in the vaulted ceiling above. Existing features such as cedar wall paneling, cabinets and built-ins were updated and complemented rather than replaced, to maximize value.
