According to the UN Environment – Global Status Report 2018, the building sector is responsible for 39% of global energy-related carbon emissions:

“Embodied carbon will be responsible for almost half of total new construction emissions between now and 2050.” – Architecture 2030

For most of the actions we can take to reduce the carbon footprint of your project, the costs are relatively minor, and when we design and invest in systems that reduce operating costs they save money over the long term.
