A couple years after Maestro successfully renovated the north end unit at Koo’s Corner, a neighbour in the newer part of the development brought us in to personalize their kitchen with a distinct palette of materials.
The existing knotty fir cabinets, reclaimed rail trestle flooring and stainless appliances were retained. Central to the client’s vision was a new figured maple butcher block countertop, complemented by a live-edge maple slab eating bar.
A custom stainless welded sink, counter and perforated drying rack were installed in the working sector. Iridescent glass subway tiles paneled the backsplash walls to stunning effect, and large-format slate under the eating bar completed the space.
